It’s who we are. On the Inside . Untouched by time or infirmity. Untrammeled by sorrows and losses and terrible truths. Unfettered by the vulnerability of old age or the fear of oblivion. Inside we are forever young. We dance and fly and love and dream. All soul and heart and spirit is what we are, nothing more than that…nothing corruptible or decayable…nothing that fears the dark. Only our outside is stealthily winnowed by the journey, tattered by the running of the sands. On the inside, we are ageless…timeless …immortal as we ever were.
So let us live our nights and days as our Inside-selves … forever young … forever dancing our way through life to eternity.
Smash the mirrors that give lie to the truth of us. Deny the cameras their foolish cruelties. Ignore the silly snickers of the ones too young to see beyond the perfidy of time.
Dance and fly and love and dream forever.
Inside is who we really are.

So beautifully said Cathy. Thanks.
The picture really touched my heart, Maria, and made the words flow… I’m so happy you think they were the right words.
The shadow is who I think I am when I sing and dance around the room. I absolutely love this photo, and your thoughts about it are fabulous!
So happy to know I’m not the only one singing and dancing around the room every chance I get! Glad the picture spoke to you as it did to me.
